Coalition for the Homeless
The Coalition for the Homeless is the nation’s oldest advocacy and direct service organization helping individuals and families experiencing homelessness. They believe that affordable housing, sufficient food, and the chance to work for a living wage are fundamental rights in a civilized society. Since its inception in 1981, the Coalition has worked through litigation, public education, and direct services to ensure that these goals are realized, and in that time, they have given more than one million homeless New Yorkers a way off the streets.

LOVE Snow Globe by Robert Indiana
Robert Indiana (American, 1928-2018) was one of the major figures in American art in the second half of the 20th Century. He played a central role in the development of assemblage art, hard-edge painting, and Pop art. His work explores American identity, personal history, and the power of abstraction and language. Equally a painter, print maker, sculptor, and poet it has been hard to categorize Indiana’s work and fit him into a particular style.
<br><br>
Robert Indiana’s LOVE that uses the unmistakable slanted ‘O’ within a square format first, appeared in 1964 in a series of frottage drawings in graphite and colored pencil. Indiana further developed his concept through a series of paintings, sculpture and prints. Love was a subject of great spiritual significance for the artist. The image’s popularity emphasizes its great resonance with large and diverse audiences, and has become an icon of modern art.

Care and cleaning:
Blue Nude II, 1952 by Henri Matisse Skateboard Deck Triptych
After a major surgery for a benign intestinal tumor, Henri Matisse was bedridden and unable to continue with his regular routine of painting and sculpture. The “cut-outs” became his preferred technique, requiring only scissors and gouache-painted paper prepared by a team of assistants. Often focusing on human silhouettes, inspired by his collection of African sculptures and trips to Tahiti, Henri Matisse would carefully arrange pieces of paper into intricate compositions, miraculously achieving a sense of volume and movement on the flat surface of the page. This is the case of “Blue Nude II”, one of the most recognizable pieces from the eponymous series, available now as a skate art triptych.
<br><br>
The overwhelming use of blue in this works was not accidental. To the artist, it symbolized volume and distance. It was also a remnant of his early Fauvist practice, relying on contrasting colors, bold lines and structure. What may appear as a simplistic final product was, in fact, a painstaking and rigorous journey, seeking to achieve the “art of balance, of purity and serenity.”
<br><br>
A portion of every sale is contributed to social impact initiatives that make a difference in communities worldwide. Since 2014, over 40 projects to empower at-risk youth, build new skateparks, and support education programs have benefited from more than $1,700,000 in impact.
