Forme Appliquee (Historique) Buffet Plates by Joseph Kosuth

designed 1991
6 different buffet plates
available in black (sold out) or white
edition of 200 in each color

This buffet service consists of six unique patterns which reflect the 200 year history of Limoges' porcelain production. Each set includes one of each design.

For this edition, Kosuth removed the original decorative elements of each design leaving only the basic form of each style.  He then added the name of the pattern and the date when the style first appeared on each piece in the artist's chosen typeface, Copperplate Gothic Bold Extended.

The buffet service, which is manufactured in Limoges, comes in two versions: black (now sold out) letters on white porcelain, or platinum letters on black porcelain. Each color version is limited to an edition size of 200 and is signed and numbered.
