Ridiculous Inflatable Swan-Thing
inflatable plastic pool float
35 1/2 x 24 x 31 inches
OBJECT DESCRIPTION
Originally designed as a limited edition sculptural piece, cast in heavy polyurethane resin, the David Shrigley Swan has been blown up, literally. This inflatable swan may be missing the graceful curves true to a classic swan, but with its hand-drawn blank expression and erect white neck, it knows exactly what it is, it is a "Ridiculous Inflatable Swan-Thing." Named lovingly by David Shrigley himself, the statuesque swan stands at 35 inches tall and comprises all that is to love about Shrigley's charismatic work, while also being pool-ready.

Star Within 2 Circles Serving Bowls
designed 1984
hand-painted maiolica in yellow, cobalt or black
stamped signature with a copyright on the verso
8": $150
10": $175
12": $200
OBJECT DESCRIPTION
In the early 1980s, Sol LeWitt and his family bought a rustic farmhouse in Spoleto, Italy. While in Rome looking for new dishes, he and his wife, Carol, discovered that the maiolica pottery they so admired was made locally, almost in their backyard, in Deruta. Italy. The craftspeople in Deruta were continuing the more than 600 year old tradition of creating maiolica, a technique of applying a glossy base glaze whitened with tin oxide onto fired clay pottery. Vivid, hand-painted colors are then added and the pieces are fired again.
LeWitt designed his own dinnerware in Deruta and these same pieces are now available through Artware Editions in the full range of colors the artist intended. Each piece is made by hand by the same artisans who for generations have kept this proud and classic Italian tradition alive. This dinnerware is lead-free and dishwasher safe.
If we do not already have it in stock. the fabrication time is approximately 12 weeks.

The Broken Juice Glass, designed 2008
set of four six-ounce silkscreened glasses
3½ x 2 3/8 inches, each
edition of 300
OBJECT DESCRIPTION
The Broken Juice Glass is a limited edition set of four different glasses conceived by Roy McMakin, exclusively for Artware Editions. For this edition, the artist has taken the simplicity of four small glasses and imposed on them a complex reworking of the aphorisms “THINGS CHANGE” and “CHANGE THINGS”. Because of their transparency and shape, McMakin is able to use the seriality of the glasses to play out a conceptual progression: the first glass is clear, on the second the phrasing is shown in its entirety on the front of the glass, and on the third and fourth the text is printed in a band around the glass but appears to be illegible. One must perfectly line up the fragmented text (a greater challenge from the third to the fourth) from the front through to the back of these to make sense of the parts. When the glasses are full, the front text appears incoherent but as the glass empties things change and all is clear.
McMakin’s art practice explores how functionality influences meaning within the medias of sculpture, photography, design, and architecture. He has had recent solo exhibitions at such prestigious venues as the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; Henry Art Gallery, Seattle; and Matthew Marks Gallery, New York. He lives and works in Seattle.

OBJECT DESCRIPTION
The subject of flowers illustrates Warhol’s serial principle perhaps more succinctly and yet more poetically than any other. Thus, in depicting flowers, the natural potential of plants to proliferate is combined with their technical reproducibility as decorative motifs for mass production.
Although the fragile and ephemeral nature of flowers was transferred by Warhol to the realm of monumentality, an air of vulnerability and nostalgia also clings to his Flowers. In fact, his first flower pictures followed on directly from his Disaster series, in which he focused on media images revolving around death. Warhol’s Flowers can, therefore, also be seen in light of flowers as a symbol of fugacity and death.” - Dr Raphaël Bouvier, Curator, Beyeler Foundation
Our partners at The Skateroom, who collaborated with The Andy Warhol Foundation and The Beyeler Foundation to make this edition, donate a significant part of their profit to support social initiatives that make the world a better place. For each edition sold, $180 will be donated to support Skateistan, a non-profit that uses skateboarding and education for youth empowerment in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa. This amount is the equivalent of learning supplies for their Skate and Create programs worldwide for one week (including art supplies and basic skate supplies).

OBJECT DESCRIPTION
The Ballerinas coupe service plate designed by Jeff Koons features an image of his sculpture Ballerinas (2010–14) from the iconic Antiquity series. Inspired by a small porcelain figurine of two dancers, the artist transformed the ready-made into a monumental sculpture that stands over eight-feet tall. The artwork communicates beauty, hope, and a sense of affirmation while the reflective surface with its subtle color gradations deal with time and metaphysics.

Split Rocker Coupe Service Plate
glazed porcelain
12.5"
limited edition of 2,500
presentation box with printed signature and number on verso
dishwasher sage
Fabricated by Bernardaud
OBJECT DESCRIPTION
Jeff Koons's Split Rocker coupe service plate is a 12.5" limited edition porcelain plate fabricated by the famed porcelain maker Bernardaud in Limoges, France. It is packaged in a presentation box and is dishwasher safe but not microwaveable.
First conceived of in the late 1990s, the first Split Rocker was inspired by the artist's son's rocking horse and toy dinosaur, and is composed of the two animals' heads, which are split down the center and not quite conjoined into a single hybrid head. Live flowers color the sculpture, which is watered by an irrigation system within its stainless-steel armature. It was last exhibited in New York's Rockefeller Center in July 2014.
