A distressed schoolgirl takes center stage of this open edition triptych. She is crouched on a tiled floor with wet hair and an anxious expression. Her eyes are peeled to the side with alertness, as if looking out for a hidden threat. There’s an urgency in the air - perhaps this is a scene of escape. Cindy Sherman transformed herself into a picture of youthful determination in the face of imminent danger.

In this solo edition, the artist embodies a woman lying still on the forest floor. Her pale face is covered in dirt and her white hair appears disheveled. She stares ahead with a lifeless expression, perhaps already dead. Which horrors has she encountered on her woodland path? What story hides behind her petrified gaze? Cindy Sherman takes our minds on a cinematic journey and sets the scene for us to write our own ending.

Cindy Sherman shape-shifts into the character of an elegant brunette, photographed with a subtly intriguing expression. The tall buildings in the far background suggest that this is a scene of suburban life. The woman is captured glancing to the side, towards a source of light while clutching her long, neatly styled hair. Although her stance appears timid, there is a hint of daring fascination in her eyes. She seems to know that there is more out there, beyond the confines of her home. It is up to the viewer to decide what she will do next.
