LOVE Snow Globe by Robert Indiana
LOVE Snow Globe by Robert Indiana
Robert Indiana (American, 1928-2018) was one of the major figures in American art in the second half of the 20th Century. He played a central role in the development of assemblage art, hard-edge painting, and Pop art. His work explores American identity, personal history, and the power of abstraction and language. Equally a painter, print maker, sculptor, and poet it has been hard to categorize Indiana’s work and fit him into a particular style.

Robert Indiana’s LOVE that uses the unmistakable slanted ‘O’ within a square format first, appeared in 1964 in a series of frottage drawings in graphite and colored pencil. Indiana further developed his concept through a series of paintings, sculpture and prints. Love was a subject of great spiritual significance for the artist. The image’s popularity emphasizes its great resonance with large and diverse audiences, and has become an icon of modern art.

This snow globe features one of Indiana's more popular color ways, red outside and violet inside, which is featured at several art institutions internationally. This Snow Globe comes safely and beautifully packaged in a custom LOVE box, perfect for gifting.

Care and cleaning:
Keep your globe out of direct sunlight. Sunlight shining through the water acts as a magnifier and can cause a fire. Sunlight can also cause the water to discolor. Dust with a soft cloth. Glass cleaner is fine on the globe. The liquid in the globes is purified water with glycol added to prevent freezing. Anti-bacterial is also added to keep the liquid clear. While the liquid in the globe is safe for humans externally, it should not be ingested. CoolSnowGlobes are made of glass and are not toys for children.

ABOUT THE COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS
The Coalition for the Homeless is the nation’s oldest advocacy and direct service organization helping individuals and families experiencing homelessness. We believe that affordable housing, sufficient food, and the chance to work for a living wage are fundamental rights in a civilized society. Since our inception in 1981, the Coalition has worked through litigation, public education, and direct services to ensure that these goals are realized, and in that time, we have given more than one million homeless New Yorkers a way off the streets.

More people are homeless in NYC now than at any time since the Great Depression. The Coalition for the Homeless is there to provide lifesaving relief to thousands of homeless and low-income New Yorkers each and every day -- and its work is more important now than ever before. The challenges facing homeless and at-risk New Yorkers have been exacerbated these past few years as the city grapples with the ongoing housing, economic, and public health crises. But the Coalition remains on the frontlines every day, meeting homeless New Yorkers where they are and fighting for the proven solutions that will bring an end to mass homelessness once and for all.

Evil Thoughts Throw by Jean-Michel Basquiat
We're thrilled to present this new, exclusive Artware Editions reversible throw featuring the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat. The throw is knitted from super-soft baby alpaca and comes in a beautiful custom box for easy gifting.
Jean-Michel Basquiat (American, 1960 - 1988) is one of the most iconic and influential contemporary artists. His rise to prominence coincided with the 1980s
Neo-Expressionist movement, but he is as much known for his earlier street art. Basquiat's work is full of social commentary, illusory symbols and autobiographical references and often blends meaningful imagery from Caribbean, African American, African and Aztec cultures. Skulls, like the one featured on this blanket, are full of symbolism and evoke African masks and Voodoo while also provoking questions about capitalism, nepotism and the important dichotomy between life and death.
