This skateboard deck comes ready to hang with mounting hardware and is part of a limited edition of 100. The image is a detail from a series of paintings entitled Femme Maison (1946) by Louise Bourgeois. The title Femme Maison roughly translates to "housewife" as this series serves as a critique of the gendered restraints placed upon women at the time. These paintings feature the bodies of naked women with houses as heads to emphasize how these domestic roles occupied a space that was familiar yet entrapping. These paintings became especially iconic during the second wave feminist movement of the 1960s. These skateboard decks come ready to hang with mounting hardware and are part of a limited edition of 100. The decks feature an image from Louise Bourgeois', Ode À Ma Mére (1995)The spider motif is something that can be seen multiple times through out Louise Bourgeois' work. From a young age she worked alongside her mother at her family's tapestry restoration business. Her mother, Joséphine, was an especially skilled weaver and spent much of her time reweaving textiles that were seemingly beyond repair. Much like a spider, Joséphine, had the ability to create something beautiful and intricate from very little. Bourgeois went on to learn many of these same skills, and thus the spider is not only representative of her experience with textiles, but pays homage to her and her mother's relationship.

28 MILLIMÈTRES... Skateboard Deck by JR
This skateboard deck comes ready to hang with mounting hardware and instructions and is part of a limited edition of 500. The top print features a printed signature.
‘Women Are Heroes’ is a project launched by JR to tell the stories of those who are often the first to be harmed in situations of conflict: women. By revealing the unspoken grief of these unsung heroes, JR explores the commonalities that exist in their gaze, and ultimately seeks to discover what unifies us all is humanity. Despite the harshness they have endured, he exposes the light and hope that still exists within them.
When the project launched, JR promised to share their stories with the world – a promise he has since kept, and that we are grateful to continue through the release of these editions.
