Relics, like much of Mark Fox's work, is about cataloguing objects in his life. For this design, he has taken the names of some of these objects and arranged them in a sunburst-like pattern that seems both natural and scientific in design. Called a "mad doodler" by The New Yorker, Fox is known for his text drawings and paper cutout sculptures and considers these wallpaper designs to be as serious as any in his larger body of work.
