The pursuit of what she terms ‘quiet beauty’ has defined the work of American designer Deborah Ehrlich ever since she began producing pieces in the late 1990s. — Aaron Peasley, WALLPAPER*
Deborah Ehrlich began designing glassware in 1999 when she embarked on developing her exquisite sense of balance tied to function. Each design always begins with a simple sketch and she then collaborates with master glassblowers to bring her designs to life. Each piece is hand-blown in Sweden and intimately checked for flaws.
Swedish glass is paper thin, clear as water, and absolutely flawless. When grouped together or seen as a single object the sculptural quality of each piece is undeniable but don't let that get in the way of their function. Swedish glass is stronger than the delicate look of the glasses but we do recommend hand-washing.
