Jeff Koons shows three basketballs hovering in equilibrium in his 1985 work Three Ball 50/50 Tank (Spalding Dr. JK Silver Series, Wilson Supershot). For the Equilibrium series, Koons received guidance from Nobel laureate physicist Dr. Richard P. Feynman, as Koons strove to achieve permanent equilibrium by suspending basketballs inside water tanks.
