James Welling’s work is an integral part of the critical re-evaluation of photography exploring conceptual photographic issues. The inspiration for this rug is from a sequence of photograms (a picture produced with photographic materials, such as light-sensitive paper, but without a camera) that were exhibited widely, including the the 2008 Whitney Biennial, and David Zwirner.
