Warhol made his first banana screen-print in 1966.  He later used this design for one of the most iconic album covers in rock and roll history - The Velvet Underground's debut album entitled "The Velvet Underground & Nico" released in March 1967. The screen-print of the yellow peel was originally used as a sticker to cover the flesh of the banana screened underneath.
