Life-long political activist, writer, feminist icon and Presidential Medal of Freedom awardee, Gloria Steinem came to prominence in the late 1960s-early 1970s, coining the term “reproductive freedom” and inspiring women worldwide to challenge oppression in society and the home. Steinem wrote for major publications, lectured on college campuses across the country and co-founded Ms. magazine at a pivotal moment in the fight for women's rights. She lit a fire for a generation of women and continues to be a formidable advocate for equal rights and reproductive freedom.

They can be used to “change your money” or decorate documents or envelopes and are also available framed. The limited edition of 100 is signed and numbered by the artist.

The stamp series is part of Jensen’s project “Changing Money” in which important and beloved American woman are drawn directly onto individual bills using (fully erasable) colored pencil.

From the artist:
"This series fits within the tradition of printed provocations; each stamp fits perfectly on existing bills and encourages the idea, if not the action, of "changing money." The series began in 2016 when the US Treasury Dept. considered replacing Alexander Hamilton with a woman, a plan derailed, absurdly, by the popularity of the musical Hamilton. Who better to challenge the power structure exemplified by our paper money than RGB, the founder of the ACLU’s Women’s Rights Project? ” For more info about the artist visit maliajensenstudio.com -
