Established 2006, New York, NY
Don't be afraid to use your art, really! Artware Editions is the premier online destination for collecting functional objects and furniture by visual artists. We believe you should enjoy and use the art you live with, and our comprehensive and authenticated selection includes exclusive editions, furniture, gifts, kitchen wares, wallpaper and much more.
We’re dedicated to making the experience of discovering and collecting functional objects by blue chip and emerging artists easy for our worldwide collectors.
We opened our doors in a charming ground-floor space in NYC's West Village in 2006. A few years later, we moved into our flagship location on the Bowery, and in 2018 we closed our physical doors to expand our e-commerce presence and focus on making editions.
From the very beginning, we focused solely on artist-designed functional objects that have enjoyed a rich (though, sadly, often overlooked) history amongst artists over the last century. We produce our own line of limited edition pieces - like Kehinde Wiley's best-selling plates, a fragrance by Kiki Smith and a Sol LeWitt throw - and we sell the best examples of functional objects from our worldwide network of fabricators. We also partner with non-profits, like Coalition for the Homeless and RxArt, to support their programming by selling products designed specifically to benefit them.
Artware was co-founded by Rebecca Kong and Jon Tomlinson who met in the early 2000s while working at a contemporary gallery in NYC. Their shared experience in the art world covers all the bases - art dealing, academia, non-profit work, etc. - but, more importantly, they share a passion for making art accessible to all art lovers.
