John Chamberlain designed this salad bowl with six buffet plates in 1996. In keeping with his interest in found objects, particularly automotive parts, the artist used a gear and an oil-pan to make the molds for his plates and bowl. Fabricated in Limoges, these white porcelain pieces are each over-glazed with gold, platinum and copper on their rims recalling the timing marks that mechanics use.
