Walter Niedermayr is an Italian photographer who lives and works in his hometown of Bolzano. His large-scale multi-panel photographs present the expansive Alps in a modernist take on the sublime landscape. Daylong climbs to remote vantages allow Niedermayr to portray the terrain “from the point of view of the mountains themselves”. In documenting man’s relationship with nature. Niedermayr employs various camera angles and perspectives in photographing a single scene. The disconnected images comprising White Rush portray the incongruity of a human presence in a majestic environment.
